IBENA- In a meeting between Mohammad Reza Farzin, the Head of the Central Bank of Iran, and Mohammed Issam Hazima, the Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, the necessity of enhancing monetary and banking cooperation between Iran and Syria was emphasized. This cooperation aligns with the growing trade and economic relations between the two countries and aims to address banking exchange issues faced by traders in the short term.
Farzin highlighted the short-term plan, stating that “the first Iranian bank will soon commence operations in Syria.” He added, “Increasing banking, trading relations and joint investments is on the serious agenda of Tehran and Damascus.”
